Ground Work – Learning the Language of the Horse
Ground
Work teaches the physical language of the horse, including
herd dynamics, equine psychology, body gestures, nuances and movements.
By “talking horse” through demonstrations and examples in a round pen
with “hands-on” learning, you will use your own body to interpret and
respond interactively with your four-legged partner to create a two-way
conversation! Once you are able to relax and enjoy really “being” with
your horse, your experiences together will be more fun and more
rewarding resulting in new confidence and connection!
Upon completing Ground Work you will have
acquired valuable tools for working with horses. You will understand and
be more aware of the subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, body language
messages sent from your horse and the impact of your own non-verbal
communications, intended or otherwise! You will also have learned how to
establish mutual respect and trust by setting healthy boundaries, having
control without contact, and experiencing a new sense of “consensual”
partnership and self empowerment.
