Interpreting 'Horsepatter'
Helen Amanda Russell and the horse/human connection

During her clinics Helen presents 'Horsepatter' her personal method of horse language which shows how horses speak to us if we are able to listen and understand.

In Helen's words….

“I teach the basic, physical language of the horse through demonstrations, examples and by creating an environment for hands-on learning. I do this by pointing out horse body gestures, nuances and movements while explaining how this articulates into a message to other horses and/or people.

By talking 'horse' using our own bodies, we are able to communicate back and forth in order to create a conversation that the animal understands and one that people are learning to interpret and respond to appropriately. In so doing, I have found that people become more aware of their own body language and this new awareness provides a useful tool for working with horses or to apply in other aspects of our lives.

Through my clinics or when teaching on an individual basis, I have discovered that once people begin to relax and enjoy being with the horses the experience is both fun and rewarding. As people begin to feel the horse dance there is a new sense of confidence and connection.”

Whether observing Helen in the round pen demonstrating or participating directly with your own horse, body awareness (horse and human) is the key to having a successful meaningful conversation.
